Our intent is to build skills with progressionary instruction that develops the student through the core essential goaltending skills and guides them through physical and mental steps required to develop muscle memory, thus creating automatic responses to situations during game play.

One of the biggest mistakes we see is when a parent thinks that this can be accomplished by simply bringing the student in for an 'occasional' session to tune up their skills. This is not effective! Old habits will come back very quickly and the deficiencies start to appear almost immediately, unless the student works on their skills regularly and diligently.

We understand that each student and family will have varied time available to them, financial limitations and different desires, goals and aspirations.

We appreciate of our clients and value their investment with us, we provide up front and honest advice, instruction and assessments. Bearing this in mind, we will provide you with a comprehensive plan for optimum development and progress that is tailored to your needs and limitations. The choice is always yours,
however please understand that if you choose not to follow our recommendation, you will not achieve the desired result.

OUR packages are the absolute best combination of technical and core essential goaltending skills development, combined with on ice coaching and game evaluations. We can alter and customize packages, if required. Working strictly with an instructor on our synthetic surface is also very effective in developing core essential goaltending skills, however without the game analysis and consultations, there will be some areas we cannot cover.

It is key for us to see a goaltender in game action to get a true sense of their strengths, weaknesses and visual attachment. Consulting sessions give us, the student and parent an opportunity to meet and discuss goals, desires and hopes for the program. These components are absolutely necessary for us to develop an effective and ongoing strategy for development. Components are also available for purchase separately.

FIRST TIME CUSTOMER >> 60 Minute Evaluation Session

We very strongly suggest that ALL students begin with a 60 minute evaluation session, regardless of age or ability.

The initial 60 minute evaluation session allows us to thoroughly review the major aspects of positioning, balance, net awareness, save selection and movement. This lays the foundation for subsequent sessions and gives the student a much greater understanding of what they need to work on.

Special rate for FIRST TIME students only.

30 MINUTE SESSION

The 30 minute session is perfect for students and parents who want practical training and less discussion time.

While we continually coach and provide feedback during any training session, a 30 minute session is more geared to the student who needs/wants quick, short instruction and/or direction and repetitive practice. Younger or less experienced students thrive in this environment.

Please note:
30 minute sessions have been the staple of our training for many years and will likely remain as such. We do not suggest sessions longer than 30 minutes for any student under 11 years of age. Please discuss with us BEFORE you select any program with sessions longer than 30 minutes, if your goalie is younger than 11.

5 and 10, 15 session package discounts are available in our shopping cart system.

Consulting sessions give us, the student and parent an opportunity to meet and discuss goals, desires and hopes for the program.

As a starting point, we invite every student and parent to attend a FREE 30 minute consultation, after your first session and BEFORE committing to a package or additional training with us.

60 MINUTE SESSION AND CONSULTING

For the more advanced and attentive goalie, 60 minute sessions will involve serious coaching time, practical work and repetitive drilling. Perfect for the serious goalie, who is in good physical shape and focused to learn.

These sessions will involve 'coaching breaks' and in depth discussion time that foster a much more advanced viewpoint of the position and the intricate requirements of proper net protection and awareness. Knowing the 'why' is often as important as the 'how'. These sessions allow us to go into much greater detail when discussing all aspects of the position.

ALTERNATE USE - TEAM GOALIES TANDEM TRAINING:
Splitting the 60 minute session between 2 goaltenders is a great way for a team to utilize our expert training for both of their goalies at once. They can alternate in the net, allowing physical recovery. Each goalie will listen and learn while his partner receives training and coaching in the net. This allows both goalies to learn for the full 60 minutes, for the price of 30. Tandem training is very effective when both goalies are of equal skill and ability levels.

3, 5 and 10, 15 session package discounts are available in our shopping cart system.

45 MINUTE SESSION AND DISCUSSION

While some of our more skilled or cerebral students, need and want more information and direction, they may not be ready for a full 60 minutes of intense instruction and practical work, so we offer the 45 minute option.

These sessions are a combination of the 30 and 60 minute offerings, with the bulk of the session being spent with quick direction and drilling. Coaching, feedback and direction are provided throughout as in any session, but in more detail then could be offered in a 30 minute session. The final few minutes of the 45 minute session will be spent discussing a 'game plan' and reviewing what was covered - as with any session, this may also involve the parent.

5 and 10, 15 session package discounts are available in our shopping cart system.

GAME EVALUATION

Chris Dyson (Puckstoppers President) will attend your game and do a personal skills evaluation & assessment of your style and overall play during one of your league games.

You will receive a detailed written report, this is the same report we use when scouting for a junior team. Having a qualified and experienced instructor see a goaltender in actual game action is essential and extremely beneficial in helping develop a personal 'game plan' for any goaltender. Do not underestimate the importance of a personal game evaluation as a valuable training tool

If you are not local, you may also consider sending us a game film for evaluation. We'll view the tape and compile the same detailed report on your play.

CONSULTING SESSIONS

We suggest regular 30 to 60 minute consulting sessions to determine if you are on course to achieve your goals for he season.

These sessions can be invaluable in helping determine course of actions, development plans and discovering deficiencies in your strategy or workout plans.

Parents will benefit from consulting sessions as they can discuss concerns and ask any goalie related or recruiting questions.

ATTEND YOUR TEAMS PRACTICE

One of our most experienced Instructors will attend your team practice and work with your goaltender, or if you prefer to book and pay for the ice, we can arrange for a personal on ice training session - however we suggest booking a one on one session as a much more efficient and economical option

CANCELLATION & 'NO SHOW' POLICY

We have seen an escalating and substantial increase in late cancellations, no shows and a general lack of consideration for our time, which we consider to be life’s most valuable resource.

Our business is based on billable time and when someone cancels (or worse, 'no shows'), last minute, we are usually left with a ‘hole’ in our schedule, which costs us income. We cannot alter our schedule without 48 hour (or more) notice because our schdules are set in advance.

We are busy, and usually fully booked, turning away customers who want time slots that are already booked. Unfortunately when someone cancels late, the people that originally wanted and would have taken the opening, have usually made other plans. This means that a student loses out on an opportunity to attend a desired day and time.

Bearing all of this in mind, our cancellation policy, which will be strictly adhered to, is as follows.

ANY cancellation with less than 48 hours notice will be billed at full price or deducted from a paid package

The only exception will be when a student is sick and can provide a doctors note to verify this. However this option is only available once per calendar year.

WEATHER REALTED CANCELLATIONS & CLOSURES

If the rink is open, we will be open, without exception. If the City closes London arena's, we will be closed.

If you are coming from out of town and there is a road closure or severe weather that prevents you from attending, we understand. But we require a minimum of 2 hours notice in these situations. Please call 519-697-7291 to notify us of any delays or required weather chancellations, also send an email ASAP.
